My mom has always enjoyed photography. Whenever Derek or I played in a sporting event, had a birthday party, or our family went on vacation, my mom was sure to have her camera. There are thousands of pictures of Derek and me growing up. Lots of those pictures include my dad. Few include my mom. She tried giving the camera to me, or Derek, or my dad, but was never satisfied with our ability to focus the camera in the right spot so I think she probably gave up on us.
Now that photography is a hobby that both my mom and I enjoy, I make it a point to take pictures of my mom when I am with her. So even though there are few pictures of her during her mothering years, there will be plenty of pictures during her grandmothering years. I think she looks so cute (and way too fancy) on the boat ride we took today.
